I received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in mechanical-aeronautical engineering and operations research, respectively in 1982 and 1987, from the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA), and the Ph.D. degree in computer science from Imperial College, London, in 1995.

Since 2014, I have been a Full Professor with the Computer Science Department, ITA. 

My research interests include distributed systems, cyber-physical systems, machine learning, and big data. 

I was a visiting professor at LiU (Linköping University) in 2018.
